Comfortable. Effective. Connected.

Patient-preferred AffloVest puts better outcomes within reach, and makes patients more willing to adhere to a treatment plan.

Why AffloVest

AffloVest® is a proven high frequency chest wall oscillation (HFCWO) therapy designed to provide patients the freedom and mobility to customize and enhance airway clearance therapy, help mobilize lung secretions, and promote treatment adherence for patients struggling with chronic respiratory conditions. AffloVest is fully mobile during use, and does not use bulky generators or air bladder technology.

AffloVest is shown to be effective at:1

  • Reducing antibiotic prescriptions
  • Decreasing hospitalizations
  • Reducing outpatient visits

With treatments often being prescribed for daily sessions, it’s important to have a therapy that fits into a patient’s daily life – not the other way around.

The preferred choice in airway clearance vests.2

In a patient preference study, participants overwhelmingly preferred AffloVest over bladder-style vests for comfort, lifestyle, and use around others. Participants reported a 93% overall preference, 90% likelihood of daily use, and 93% preference for fit with lifestyle.

The blinded study was conducted by an independent research firm using this methodology:

  • 30 participants were randomized by vest type and order of usage.
  • Each participant used an AffloVest and one other air bladder-style vest.
  • Participants received 15 minutes of therapy from each vest.
  • Follow-up interviews used standardized, qualitative questions about participant experiences.

How it works

Our patented Direct Dynamic Oscillation™ technology utilizes eight oscillating motors to create individual pressure waves that target all lobes of the lungs. This technology was designed to mobilize secretions by mimicking manual chest physical therapy (CPT).

AffloVest has three levels of intensity to accommodate patient’s individualized needs and three unique modes designed to mimic hand CPT:

  • Percussion – All motors operate in a pulsed fashion using a regular rhythm.
  • Vibration – All motors operate continuously, providing deep oscillation of the thoracic cavity.
  • Drainage – All motors operate in a preprogrammed sequential fashion as therapy progresses up and down to mobilize secretions upward.

AffloVest sizing

With five sizes to choose from, AffloVest is the most inclusive portable HFCWO vest available. AffloVest delivers comfortable, effective, connected therapy that fits.

Adjustments can be made with the AffloVest Size Exchange Program, which allows patients to change AffloVest size as needed. See Terms and Conditions for program details.

How is AffloVest prescribed?

The AffloVest requires a prescription for treatment by HFCWO. Once your healthcare team has decided AffloVest is the airway clearance therapy for you, they can fill out the AffloVest Order form, provide all necessary insurance and medical documentation, and contact a Durable Medical Equipment (DME) distributor to place the AffloVest order.

The AffloVest has received the FDA’s 510k clearance for U.S. market availability, and is approved for Medicare, Medicaid, and private health insurance reimbursement under the Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) code E0483 – High Frequency Chest Wall Oscillation. The AffloVest is available through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs/Tricare. Patients must qualify for coverage and meet their individual insurance’s eligibility requirements.

Coverage criteria and documentation requirements can vary from patient to patient, largely depending on their medical condition, and their health insurance carrier and plan. Work with your healthcare team to decide if AffloVest airway clearance therapy is right for you.
